What's Blooming Blog

It's Spring!!!

It was such a nice day outside today that I just had to get out and see what was happening in the garden. As soon as I set foot on the floral walk I saw the most amazing display of daffodils! There are thousands! All different sizes and colors!

On Wednesday I was alerted to a great photo opportunity by our Fragrance Garden horticulturist Fritz.

It's amazing what these plants can tolerate!

Natural Area Hike

Bill, the assistant curator and I went up into the Natural Area of Red Butte Garden last Friday for our first official hike of the year.

It was a rather cool day as a storm was coming in, but the overcast sky allowed for some great photos.

As we started up the trail we were welcomed by a friendly ground squirrel.

Welcome!

Thank you for visiting our "What's Blooming Blog".

It's a great place to see wonderful images of cool and interesting plants in bloom here at The Garden.

My name is Jason Baker and I am the Curator of Plant Records for Red Butte Garden. If you find me out wandering in the garden, come over and say "Hi". I'll be the 6' 4" tall guy with the camera around my neck.
