Listen to Death Cab for Cutie for any length of time and you begin to realize they are constantly experimenting with sound. The experimentation has gone well as Death Cab’s fan base has grown with each new album even as the band continues to stretch artistic boundaries and refuses to pander. Their music comes at you in hypnotic waves that somehow leave you feeling warm and comfortable. When it comes down to it, no one has made prettier post millennial rock than Death Cab for Cutie.

Andrew Bird could be the only performer to light up a stage using a combination of vocals, violin, guitar, glockenspiel, and whistling to give depth and soul to folk rock.
