Lecture with Tom Freeth

July 18

The Early-Flowering Flora of Spain

Join us for a lecture with botanist Tom Freeth including images and maps he created during his trips to Spain in search of plants suitable for cultivation in the Rock Garden and the Alpine House of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, UK. Topics include the early Narcissus of northern Spain and some of the early semi-arid flora of Andalusia in southern Spain.

Monday, July 18 from 5-7pm

About Tom Freeth: Professional horticulturist and botanist with a life-long love of wild plants and high places. My career has led me through various disciplines from golf courses through hard landscape construction and on to international Botanic Gardens and the Chelsea Flower Show. I currently work at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew looking after the curation of the Living Collections across the site. My previous role was the curator and supervisor of the Alpine and Rock Garden Living Collection and the team at Kew. When not at work I’m usually found somewhere outside taking pictures of wildlife or trying to catch the game!
