When checking in at Red Butte Garden, campers will meet in the Red Butte Garden Visitor Center parking lot.

Partner Camp with Natural History of Utah
Join us for four days of nature explorations! In the morning at Red Butte Garden, campers will be exploring food chains and trophic levels as they create photosynthesis art, plant their own pots, identify scat, and more. While at NHMU in the afternoon, campers will be investigating the fauna and arthropods that call Utah home through outdoor excursions in the foothills. While outside, campers will also spend time learning to use the iNaturalist app as we become Citizen Scientists! To make things easy on parents, drop off and pick up take place at Red Butte Garden Monday-Thursday. No camp on Friday.

Seeds, Science, and Storytelling: Oh My!
Partner camp with Spy Hop & Wasatch Community Gardens
Week 1 (July 8 – 12):
Spend your mornings at Spy Hop, where you will create clay characters and bring them to life. You’ll learn basic stop-motion animation as well as camera and editing techniques.
Then, you’ll head to Wasatch Community Gardens’ Campus Teaching Garden to experiment with local foods, explore a garden ecosystem, and connect with the planet.
Please note:
Drop-off is between 8:30 and 9am at Spy Hop.
Pickup is at 3:30pm at Wasatch Community Gardens.
Travel between camp locations is provided by Spy Hop.
Week 2 (July 15 – 19):
For your second week, you’ll spend each morning learning the art of filmmaking as you create short, fast infomercials based on real and imaginary products. You’ll learn camera basics and editing software to bring your advertisement to life!
Then, travel to Red Butte Garden where you will become a culinary scientist as you discover the science of cooking. Spend the afternoons practicing essential kitchen skills like chopping, mixing, and blending, as you learn why onions make you cry, how bread rises, why fruit browns, and more. You’ll also harvest fresh ingredients from the Garden, decorate a chef’s apron, and compile a camp cookbook.
