This program follows a creativity and wellness format, meaning it is not art therapy and does not emphasize technique or talent. It is meant to be a meditative, creative, and enjoyable program for ALL skill levels, offering a wide variety of projects that can be done in a short or long time frame.

use acrylic paint on canvas board to render a garden scene or plant detail observed in the garden.

Watercolor Pencil Drawings -
depict garden scenery using watercolor pencils which offer a variety of mark making.

Pastel Rubbings -
Red Butte Garden has wonderful flower tiles in the outdoor garden entrance. Create a rubbing from these using chalk pastel. You will work back into this rubbing using line and erasure to create a garden memento.

Micro Paintings in the Garden -
use watercolor to create a tiny garden image using realistic or imagined color.

3D Landscapes -
using folded watercolor paper depict the foreground, middle ground, and background that you see at Red Butte Gardens using watercolors.
