PART 1: Rose Pruning Workshop
Thursday, March 11 from 6-7:30 PM (ONLINE) & Saturday, March 13 from 10:30 AM-Noon or 1-2:30 PM (IN-PERSON)
In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to properly prune your roses for maximum bloom and health.
PART 2: Choosing the Best Roses
Wednesday, April 7 from 6-7:30 PM (ONLINE)
Learn how to choose the best roses for your garden. We’ll cover rose classification, disease-resistance, cold-hardiness, and easy-care roses. We’ll also discover how to combine roses with other plants in your overall garden design.
PART 3: Rose Maintenance
Wednesday, June 9 from 6-7:30 PM (ONLINE) & Saturday, June 12, 10 AM-Noon or 1-3 PM (IN-PERSON)
Learn the best techniques for maintaining and caring for your roses. Topics include planting, watering, fertilizing, deadheading, propagation, and winter protection. Then join us for an outdoor, socially-distanced meeting at Red Butte Garden to view roses and participate in demonstration and practice of maintenance techniques.
PART 4: Rose Pests and Diseases
Wednesday, July 14, 6-7:30 PM (ONLINE)
Even with the best planning, you may still experience occasional pest and disease problems in your rose garden. This class will cover the most common rose pests and diseases and how to tackle them safely and effectively.
