ROSE MAINTENANCE

Rose Maintenance

Wednesday, June 19 from 6-7:30 PM AND Saturday, June 22, 9-11 AM OR 12-2 PM

Learn the best techniques for maintaining and caring for your roses in this two-part course. Topics include: planting, watering, fertilizing, deadheading, propagation, and winter protection. Then join us for an outdoor class at Red Butte Garden to view roses and participate in a demonstration and practice of rose maintenance techniques.

Saturday class-time assignments will be made during the first class.

Get to know your instructor:

Crystal Kim is the Horticulture Program Coordinator at Red Butte Garden. She has been with Red Butte Garden since 2003 working as a horticulturist in the Rose Garden and Floral Walk for 15 years before assuming her current position in 2018. She has a B.S. in horticulture from Oregon State University.

This class is part of the Dig Deeper Wasatch: Yard and Garden Program.

This program brings together three educational partners and experts in gardening along the Wasatch Front – Red Butte Garden, Conservation Garden Park, and Utah State University Extension at Wheeler Historic Farm.

In each core or elective class, participants will learn new skills and best practices in a wide array of horticulture-based topics while keeping water conservation and sustainability in the forefront. There is something for all skill sets and interests.
