Partnership Red Butte + NHMU Field Trip

To prepare for your Red Butte Field Trip please complete the items below:

• The Field Trip Pre-Visit Orientation is virtual tour of Red Butte and takes a few minutes to complete. The tour is designed to orient your students to Red Butte Garden and includes safety and behavior guidelines. You can complete the tour with your students or have them do so on their own.

• Read the Bus Drop Off and Parking Map
  • Send bus drivers and driving chaperones the Bus Drop Off and Parking Map
  • Your field trip will gather for orientation at the starred location.

• School lunches are not permitted at Red Butte. Please review the Lunch Recommendations to make alternative plans.

Additional Field Investigation Information

Students are led by school chaperones and school teachers. All field trip participants will receive an orientation when they arrive. Chaperones in the 1:5 ratio will receive field trip materials.

Students will receive their own field journals and pencils. These materials will be provided to your students when they arrive at Red Butte.

Garden Educators will be stationed throughout Red Butte with activities and hands-on experiences.

For Teachers:

• Read the NHMU Teacher Checklist
• Read the Red Butte Pre-Field Trip Guidelines
• Inform bus drivers and driving chaperones that Partnership field trips start at the NHMU Roundabout.
• Lunch timeslots are 20 minutes. Please prepare chaperones and students accordingly.

For your Chaperones:
