October has brought rain, a chill in the air, and our favorite... fall colors! Now is a favored time to visit the Garden as it transforms into its future fall self.

Bigtooth Maple (Acer grandidentatum)

Striking colors of pink are starting to appear in the Natural Area.

Tulip Prickly Pear (Opuntia phaeacantha)

The way this pad is growing from the ground looks creepy and is telling of October.

Lace-leaf Staghorn Sumac (Rhus typhina 'Laciniata')

This small tree never disappoints in the fall.

Distant Drums Rose (Rosa 'Distant Drums')

These roses are still going strong! And arguably the best smelling roses of the land.

False Purple Thistle (Eryngium leavenworthii)

I always get excited to see these. They add a fun contrast to any garden!
