Petal to the Metal: Summer in Full Swing
Submitted: July 6, 2025, 4:29 p.m.
Welcome to today’s Bloom Blog — where the Garden’s greatest hits are putting on a summer show!

Floral Walk
The bold, bright ring sculptures along the Floral Walk are popping with color and perfectly framing this season’s standout annual blooms.

Tiki Torch Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea 'Tiki Torch')
This blazing beauty can take the heat. With sizzling orange petals and major pollinator appeal, it’s the Garden’s own natural firework — lighting up the Courtyard Garden.

Grecian Foxglove (Digitalis lanata)
Along the Floral Walk, these elegant blooms may whisper rather than shout, but they'll still stop you in your tracks with their soft hues and sculptural charm.

Bubba Desert Willow (Chilopsis linearis 'Bubba')
Big blooms and a low water bill. This tree proves you can bloom big and still be water-wise. This desert dweller with flair is blooming at the top of the Water Conservation Garden.

Golden Columbine (Aquilegia chrysantha)
Delicate and unique, this golden flower floats in the breeze. Look for it dancing along the Floral Walk.

Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood')
This maple is sure to leaf a good impression — a shady and glowing character, all at once.
Come see what's blooming this week at the Garden!
