Experience a new perspective this Spring and Summer season.
Get outside and take notice of what is happening in the natural world. Forest bathing offers the magical beauty and healing power Red Butte Garden has to offer. Enjoy a dose of sunlight and the beauty of the changing season.
Forest Bathing originated in Japan where it is called Shinrin-Yoku. This practice has been scientifically proven to boost immunity and mental strength as well as offering us the opportunity to deepen our relationship with the natural world.
Red Butte Garden’s Forest Bathing experience increases the well-being of participants through guided immersive experiences in the garden which shift one’s perspective and renew the spirit. We will explore slowly, using one sense at a time, the ways of grounding to nature and capturing the beauty of the moment. Through a guided experience and careful observation, we may begin to notice parts of the environment that have been missed during the pace of our day-to-day lives. This guided walk can be done by all ages and abilities. Also, connect with other class participants as you are guided to create balance with your environment.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR EACH COURSE
Classes are held outdoors, rain, snow, or shine. During the summer months it is recommended to bring a water bottle and wear sunscreen, a hat, and closed toe shoes.
New class dates to be added monthly.

He has worked full-time in the industry as a partnership developer in the field since and also began guiding part-time. This is where Chris developed a genuine interest in helping his clients build deeper and healing connections with the natural world through immersive experiences in forests and other natural settings.
Chris is a certified forest bathing guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs and also has certified in Wilderness First Aid training. Chris is easy-going yet focused and his training includes special knowledge in guiding people of all ages and all seasons in Shinrin-Yoku, "Forest Bathing" walks and knowledge demonstrating the benefits of spending time in nature as a wellness practice and an effective way to manage stress and build a healthy life balance.
Inspired by the fields of deep ecology and holistic health, Chris hopes to guide people to find their own connections to nature because when people are connected to nature the benefits are not confined to humans but work for the health and well-being of the entire biosphere.
