This week at camp you’ll learn about the amazing superheroes of the natural world. Many of our favorite superheroes were inspired by real-life superpowers found in plants and animals! From spiders that dance like a peacock to flowers that shoot their seeds like a bow and arrow, you’ll never look at nature the same again!

Alfresco Art

Come get in touch with your artistic side! Explore the world of art this week at camp as you paint, draw, and sculpt your way across the Garden. In addition to learning the basics of line, shape, color, and texture, you’ll get to create your own Garden-inspired artwork. End the week with a gallery stroll to showcase the incredible art you make.

Operation Ecology

Calling all detectives! Join us this week of camp to uncover the mysterious side of nature. Each day will come with a top-secret mission that you will work to solve with your fellow campers through experiments, crafts, and games. Come discover the exciting, and sometimes bizarre, mysteries of the natural world.

Plants Around the World

Although the Garden is located in Utah, it’s home to plants from around the world. Go on a globetrotting adventure this week at camp as you explore the traditions, games, foods, and plants of different countries from around the world. You’re in for a world of fun with this camp!

Theatre in the Garden

Calling all actresses and actors! Spend the week exploring drama, visual arts, and more in this full-day theatre camp. Throughout the week, you’ll create props and backdrops, practice your acting skills, and work with your fellow thespians to produce and star in a simple play. End the week with a live performance of your play in the Garden to showcase all you’ve learned.

Wild Senses & Crazy Defenses

If you were an animal, would you protect yourself with teeth, claws, or hooves? What would you use if you were a plant? Toxins or thorns? Animals and plants survive in amazing and unusual ways. In this camp, you’ll explore the many ways the plants and animals here at Red Butte Garden protect themselves and thrive in their habitats.

Tiny Garden Treasures

The natural world is filled with magic, and you’ll learn all about it this week at camp. Each day you’ll explore a new mythological creature and discover the magical role it plays in helping the environment. Later, use what you’ve learned to create the perfect home for these magical creatures by combining basic garden design principles with small-scale plants and handcrafted accessories. At the end of the week, you’ll have your own tiny world terrarium to take home.
