This week at camp you’ll learn about the amazing superheroes of the natural world. Many of our favorite superheroes were inspired by real-life superpowers found in plants and animals! From spiders that dance like a peacock to flowers that shoot their seeds like a bow and arrow, you’ll never look at nature the same again!

This camp includes two full days at Wasatch Community Gardens on Monday & Tuesday, and two full days at the Garden on Wednesday & Thursday with a Friday To Go Kit.*
Explore the magic of nature with Wasatch Community Gardens and Red Butte Garden! At Wasatch Community Gardens explore the supernatural properties of plants as you create botanical potions and perform magical plant experiments. At Red Butte Garden discover the mythical origins of everyday things found in the natural world like honeybees and birds as you create pinecone weather stations, concoct organic weed killer, build DIY birdfeeders, and more.
*Friday To Go Kits include take-home activities your camper can use to explore the natural world at home.

Calling all artists! Explore the world of art this week at camp as you paint, draw, and sculpt your way across the Garden. In addition to learning the basics of line, shape, color, and texture, you’ll also create your own petroglyph, learn the basics of watercolor, make your own handmade paper book, and more. End the week with a gallery stroll to showcase the incredible art you make.

Drop off at Red Butte Garden by 9AM and pick up at Tanner Dance at 4PM.
Hear ye, hear ye! Join Tanner Dance and Red Butte Garden on a mythical medieval adventure! Spend your mornings at Red Butte learning about the fun, magical, mystical, and unusual traditions from the medieval era as you explore the different plants people used in their everyday lives. In the afternoon you’ll walk to Tanner Dance, where you’ll interpret myths, legends and more through dance and other art forms. End the week with a special performance at Tanner Dance to showcase all you’ve learned.
Campers will walk each day at lunchtime to Tanner Dance with Red Butte Garden summer camp staff (a distance of approximately 1 mile, downhill).

This camp includes two full days at the Garden and two full days at Tracy Aviary, with a Friday To Go Kit.*
At Tracy Aviary you’ll learn how birds survive in their habitats and practice using bird adaptations for feeding, fending off predators, and enduring the forces of nature. Investigate the unique lives of birds through games, crafts, and exclusive bird encounters.
Then at Red Butte Garden explore the many ways plants protect themselves from danger! If you were a plant, would you protect yourself with toxins or thorns? Or maybe something else altogether? Come find out in this all-day adventure!

Although Red Butte Garden is located in Utah, it is home to plants from around the world. Go on a globetrotting adventure this week at camp as you explore the traditions, games, foods, and plants of different countries from around the world. With stops in India, Japan, Kenya and more, you’re in for a world of fun!
