QIGONG & TAI CHI IN THE GARDEN

April 22

Thursdays, May - September

Spring and summer classes coming soon!

REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR EACH DATE

Class will meet in the courtyard of Red Butte Garden. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early.

Qigong (pronounced chi-kung) is a moving meditation, some say the grandfather of T’ai Chi. “Qi” = Life Force + “gong” cultivating our life force = Qigong

This is a mind-body-spirit practice that improves one’s mental and physical health. Everyone is welcome to this class, no experience is necessary. We will practice being aware of our surroundings, inside and outside of ourselves. Moving slowly, connecting our movements with our breath and present awareness.

Qigong is self-care in the highest form. Helping you reset and begin again by letting go of the past and future, and simply BE in the present. Sifu Toni’s personal mantra is "BE = Breathe & Expand.” For when we reside in the present — there is no stress.

If you would like to learn more about Qigong, Sifu Toni shares personal insights on slowing down, being present, and flowing with life on her website: ChiMoments.com

Earth Day Qigong - Tuesday, April 22

6-7pm

Register Here!

Join us outside at Red Butte Garden for Earth Day Qigong.

We will ground and connect with Mother Earth through the soles of our feet and expand our awareness within our bodies. All while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the garden.

Qigong, pronounced (chee kung), is a slow-moving meditation with conscious breath work and learning to become aware of our Qi (our essence, our life force). We will use simple movements with breath to connect our mind and bodies together for present-moment awareness because there is no stress in the present moment. It comes from wasting time in the past and/or worrying about the future. Come and BE (breathe and expand) in each present moment as it arises for Earth Day 2025.

What do I need to bring?
Comfortable clothes, and bring layers. We do not know what our Utah weather will bring us. It’s better to have more layers than you need and take them off as your body temperature warms. Bring yourself a water bottle, and when we practice, shoes will be optional. For me, feeling the grass below my feet is nourishing itself. Although I did put my shoes back one year, as we had some soft snowflakes come down.
