Terry L. Goedel is a Yakama/Tulalip Native American Indian. In 1971, a transformative performance by The Lamanite Generation at Brigham Young University profoundly influenced Terry. The mesmerizing display of Native Hoop dancing ignited his passion and inspired him to share this cultural treasure with the world. That same year, at just sixteen years old, Terry graduated high school and began his studies at Brigham Young University. There, he joined The Lamanite Generation and embraced hoop dancing—a tradition he has devotedly practiced since 1972. As both a custodian and teacher of this cherished art form, Terry has played a crucial role in preserving and revitalizing hoop dancing.
